  • "Ignore" rule

This may have come up before, but i can't find it at the moment.

is it possible to have a file comparison rule to "ignore" a certain file type? i.e. don't even download it from ftp?

If i'm using BC to compare web site code, there are often times when i want to ignore .gif and .jpg because they just don't matter at the moment (and they take a LONG time to download).

I think this part was mentioned earlier, but it would be ideal to have a file comparison rule to do a date/size comparison (i.e. don't download the file)

    Thanks!

    Re: \"Ignore\" rule

Conditionally selecting the comparison criteria is on the wish list.

The best way to do this with the current version is to have two sessions, one using timestamp and size and filtering to include the .gif and .jpg files, and another session using rules-based and filtering to only include the web site code.

The other option is to just filter out the files temporarily. Filtering is extremely fast, and doesn't reload or recompare anything. Just filter out the file types you don't want to compare, select everything else and compare it, and then restore the old file filters.
