  • How to wrap long HTML lines?

    Hi,
Most HTML files and many text files have very long lines,
which makes it very hard to view them
    even in "Over-under" layout (horizontal
    scrolling is difficult).

I do not want to change the comparison in any way,
line numbering should not be affected either,
but View menu should, I think, have "Wrap" option
    like Notepad does.

    Thank you
    John

You can force a line wrap by changing the maximum line length in the file viewer.

    Select Tools|Edit Current Rules.
In the "Maximum Line Length" box, enter the number of characters that you would like the lines to wrap at.

Wrapped lines do not preserve the line numbering correctly, but otherwise work fine.

We will have better line wrap handling in version 3 of Beyond Compare.
