Synch option: delete target files not in filter

I want to keep a mirror on drive F: of all files on drive D: which are less than 180 days old. It would be convenient if there were a synchronize option which specified deleting all target files which do not fit the filter. (As it is, it seems that I would need to do it in several steps, first deleting all files on the target which are too old, then mirroring all files from source to target which fit the date filter.)

Am I missing a way to do this as part of the synch?

This could be done in several steps,
I don't see a way to easily delete all the fil

The method you describe, deleting files on the target older than 180 days, then mirroring all files less than 180 days old is the best way to do this.
