Does Synchronize = Delete?

I am a new user. I want to use Beyond Compare to back up files on our small network. I plan to use Actions | Synchronize Folders | Synchronize to Right to do this. If I use that process, will anything be deleted? Thank you. Dan.

By default the normal synchronize behavior will only copy updated files. It will not delete orphans on the target side. It is possible to change the default settings in the Sync Options section of Tools|Options to make the Synchronize to Left/Synchronize to Right commands delete files.

The Actions|Synchronize Folders|Custom Sync command can delete files if you select Mirror in the drop down for the type of sync. It will make the target identical to the source, deleting files that only exist on the target side.
