I got Beyond Compare working on SuSE linux by using Crossover Office. I am about to get an Apple PowerBook and would love to use my Beyond Compare on that. Any plans for that? Anyone else here use a Mac?

Re: Any plans to port to any other OS?
We're working on a Linux/x86 port. We've had a number of requests for an OS X port, but we probably won't have time to look into it until sometime after we ship a Linux port (no release date set for that yet).Chris K Scooter Software -

Well, at least you are not opposed to it. That is good. I would love a Linux port as well. OSX being built on Unix, perhaps a port from Linux to OSX would be easier. Perhaps not. I have never looked into how much the OSX version of FreeBSD is different than standard versions. Anyway, the product is great! I like it so much I purchased it! Keep up the great work.Comment

Re: Any plans to port to any other OS?
I haven't tried it, but Parallels Workstation (http://www.parallels.com/) also looks like a promising option for running a virtual copy of Windows inside of OS X Intel.
An OS X version of BC is still something we're considering for the future. The main problem is that BC is written in Delphi and there isn't a good option for porting it to OS X. FreePascal is promising, but it still won't be simple to port BC using it.
We do have one Mac in the office that we've done some experimentation with, but it is really too early to say when or if we might have an OS X port.Chris K Scooter SoftwareComment

Now that BC3 is out (which is awesome btw), and the port to Linux is completed, is there an update on whether an OS X port is in the works?Comment

I think (hope) BC3 taught us a bit about talking about planned features too early, and I think that will apply to any possible OS X release. There is lots of demand for it, but we're a small company and there are plenty of issues standing in it's way (more than most people think), so I wouldn't expect any news about it soon. OSX Version
I bought and have been using BC 2.5 on my lone remaining windows computer. I've been converting to OSX and would buy the next version if it was available for OSX. The "compare/merge" type programs on the OSX side that I have found are not all that decent and/or affordable. The much older posts about using Boot Camp or Parallels is not a viable option since my goal is dumping Windows completely.Comment

Sorry, we're very aware of the interest in a Mac version, but it isn't in the works right now.
Using a virtual copy of Windows or an emulator like Darwine as suggested in our knowledgebase might be your best option right now.
