Can I program an exit hotkey for the session viewer? I can't find an entry in the hotkey list. Sorry, but Alt-S X and Alt-F4 are just not convenient. Maybe Ctrl-X or even (shudder) ESC would do?

Re: exit hotkey for session viewer
ESC is mapped to exit for the file viewer, but not the folder viewer. It isn't possible to change the keyboard shortcut for Exit in the folder viewer right now, but we can change that in the next release. Once that's done you'll be able to change it by opening the Options dialog from the folder viewer and switching to the "Keyboard" panel.Zoë P Scooter Software

Re: exit hotkey for session viewer
There isn't a way to change the Esc key mapping in the current version. A reinstall will not change it.
The File Viewer and Session Manager (from Session|Session Manager) can be exited using the Esc key.
The Folder Viewer (directory comparison) can only be exited using the Alt-F4 and Alt-S-X keyboard shortcuts.
Alt-F4 and Alt-F-X will also work to exit the File Viewer.Chris K Scooter Software

Re: exit hotkey for session viewer
If you load RegEdit and delete the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Scooter Software\Beyond Compare\FileViewer\Menu\Exit value it will reset to the default Esc. There isn't a way to set it in the dialog since Esc closes the dialog.
BTW, if you want an easy "Close" shortcut that also happens to be supported by most web browsers and Explorer, I'd suggest Ctrl+W. That way you won't have to re-learn or reassign it when we add it as a shortcut in a future release.Zoë P Scooter Software

Re: exit hotkey for session viewer
And, just for completeness:
If you want to assign Esc to a shortcut you can do it using Regedit. First, in BC assign a junk shortcut to the command that you want Esc to be used for; doesn't matter what it is. Close BC. Open regedit and browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Scooter Software\Beyond Compare. The file viewer shortcuts are under FileViewer\Menu and the folder viewer shortcuts are under FolderViewer\Menu. Find the command you assigned, and change it's value from whatever it is to the Hexadecimal value 0100001B.Zoë P Scooter Software
