Thank you for the bug report. I'll add it to our bug list and we'll work to get it fixed.

Exactly my environment. Sounds like you got it.

So... in trying that out, I may have found another one for you. Do this:

    1. Disable "Line Details" mode
    2. F2 to edit a line
    3. While still editing, enable "Line Details" mode
    4. Exit the edit session (ESC or Enter)

Now "Line Details" mode is still enabled, but the line details aren't displayed.

Similarly, if you have "Line Details" enabled, F2, disable "Line Details", then exit the edit session, the line details are present even though "Line Details" are disabled.

We figured it out. This will happen if you don't have the line details visible and you start editing a line. When that happens the line details become visible so you can edit the text, which triggers a panel resize, and the splitter resets to the middle whenever the file viewers are resized. If we have some time we'll try to get this fixed.

Thanks, Ernie. I just tried this on 2 other system around here (both running 2.2.7), and they _didn't_ exhibit this bug either.

Seems like we need a few more data points...

I'll play around a little more looking for differences between my various systems... using BC to do it(!). An interesting thought... wouldn't it be cool if BC allowed Registry diffs... Hmmm - plugin, maybe?

Running BC2 2.3.1 (build 231) on Windows 2000 Pro. I can move the separator to the left/right, hit F2 to edit one or the other line, and then finish with ENTER. Separator stays where I left it.

Reporting against the released 2.3.1 (build 231). I also see this in my 2.4 beta version (build 236). Same results seen on a completely different system as well.

I'm on WinXP. The seperator moves when I hit F2. During my edit session, I can resize the panes again, and when I "Enter" my changes, the panels are again resized to 50/50.

Other user's attempts to duplicate this might be interesting... anybody willing to try this simple test?

    Hi Chris,

I can't repeat that here. What release are you using, what OS, and does the seperator move when you press F2 or when you accept the edit at the end?

Minor file viewer bug when editing text

In the file viewer, drag the file seperator to the left or right (e.g. make the left side larger than the right), then edit one of the lines (e.g. hit F2). The file seperator jumps back to the middle of the screen.

It probably should remain where it was. It was moved for a reason.
