On long documents the diff bar on the left hand side does not fit within one screen and there could be diffs that I did not notice because they were on the undisplayed portion of diff bar.
If you just put a red line at the bottom of the diff bar if there are any diffs off the screen it would draw my attention to them and I would continue scrolling down.
