    Re: Saved password

There isn't a button to clear recent FTP sites. You can delete them from the registry location where they are stored:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Scooter Software\Beyond Compare\Recent\FTP

You can also set the number of recent sites/paths BC remembers by changing the value of:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Scooter Software\Beyond Compare\Settings\MRUSize

If you set it to 0 BC will not list any paths or ftp servers in the recent sites lists. This won't prevent the last paths compared from being listed in the Open dialog.

If you click the "Clear Passwords" button in the FTP > Firewall/Proxy section of Tools|Options you'll be prompted for your password again.
Is there a similar function to clear the list of recently-used FTP sites?

    Thanks!

If you click the "Clear Passwords" button in the FTP > Firewall/Proxy section of Tools|Options you'll be prompted for your password again.

If you enter a password directly in a url using the format ftp://user[email protected]/folder/ BC will save the password automatically.

If you connect to an FTP site using the browse dialog's FTP Site tab, and enter the username and password, BC will save the password.

If you connect to an FTP site and you don't provide a password, either using a URL without a password or by not entering a password in the browse dialog, BC will present you with an "Enter Password" dialog. If you leave "Save Password" unchecked, BC will not save the password.

    Saved password

I'm sure this has been asnwered before, but I can't remember/find it. My PC at work has been re-installed which means loads of settings are gone. I've reconfigured BC to FTP logins on the mainframe, but I seem to have (by accident) got BC to remember my password for the mainframe rather than prompty me each time (we HAVE to changes our PW's every month, that's why I want to be prompted each time).

What setting or where did I go to change the FTP login to prompt me ?
Working...
