  • Treat zip file as a folder in the shell extension

I hope a zip file and a common folder can be easily picked as a pair from the context menu in Windows Explorer. Presently, BC doesn't treat a zip file as a folder in the shell extension.

    Hi!

I can't confirm this, works perfectly here.
Which Windows version and which version of Beyond Compare do you use?

As long as *.zip is included in the list of archive associations in the General section of Beyond Compare's Tools|Options dialog, the shell extension should allow you to compare zip files to folders.

I'm very sorry for some reason I couldn't come back for the replies in time.

I finally found what caused the problem.

Recently I converted the settings to Single-directory mode (BC2.ini) and deleted the folder in %AppData%, and the registry keys.
        Now I can tell:
        HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Scooter Software\Beyond Compare\Settings
Deleting this registry key will cause the problem.

So, just keep this empty key in your registry, if you want to use Single-directory mode like I do.

        Merry Christmas!
