  • BC3 beta RSS feed?

I would like to monitor just the BC3 beta forum as an RSS feed. Firefox shows me that there is a feed for just that forum, but there are no items in it (http://www.scootersoftware.com/beta3...SS2&forumids=6). If it is not difficult, could that be setup?

    Thanks,
    Jim

I've looked into it a bit, and the default settings of vBulletin do not seem to support an rss feed at that level. You can setup multiple RSS feeds for the BC3 forums specifically (but that is not really ideal).

I'll look into this a bit more and see if I can find a setting.

Alright, I believe I found the intended solution. Instead of trying to add the parent forum, simply add all of the child forums into a single rss, such as:
      http://www.scootersoftware.com/vbull...11,10,16,17,18

        Aaron,

OK but if I try and say http://www.scootersoftware.com/vbull...ss2&forumids=6, it still comes up empty. Perhaps what I want to do can not be done--and that's OK. But what I wanted was to just see the beta feed since I have this on my Google home page.

        Thanks,
        Jim

forumid=6 won't work, but rss2&forumids=12,15,14,7,9,11,10,16,17,18 should be the equivalent (assuming I did not miss any of the sub forums under forum 6).

Try adding it, and it should work as you expect. If it does not, could you explain what you'd prefer to see?

            Aaron,

Thanks, that works just great. Now I understand that you are listing the individual forums under the main beta forum. This way is very helpful because I can now eliminate a couple of the forums that I personally don't have any interest in.

Now, if Google would just let me edit the title so it didn't say "Scooter Forums - 7,9,10,11,12,14,15,16,17,18" .

Thanks again, this is a big help for me.

If you go to your account's Google Reader, you should be able to go to Settings->Subscriptions and rename it there.

              Does that work for you?

No, it doesn't, but that's OK. At this point it is no loner your issue. You see, I am not using Google Reader, but I am using iGoogle and I can add RSS feeds to my home page there. It simply parrots back the text it finds as the header and does not allow me to customize the heading.

                Thanks anyway.

Hmmm,... good luck configuring your iGoogle. I notice there is a Google Reader plug-in for it, but I assume you are using one of the various others available.
