Do I have to uninstall before upgrading?

I am running BC 2.4 right now, and want to upgrade to 2.5.3. Do I have to uninstall 2.4 before installing 2.5.3, or can I just install 2.5.3 on top of 2.4?

You do not have to uninstall. You can install version 2.5.3 over the top of version 2.4.
