How can I make a script close after finishing..

Also I am using a script that generates an HTML report of folder comparison, how can I not generate the "Size" and "Modified" columns, just the files?

Which version of Beyond Compare are you currently running? Based on your other post, you appear to be running on Linux. Is that running BC2 Windows in an emulated environment or BC3 Linux?

For BC3, you can change this in the Tools menu -> Options, Script section. "Close when finished".
For BC2, it is in the Tools menu -> Options, General section, Script processing options: "Closed when finished."

It can also be controlled by the command line if you need to define it as a case by case basis.

Hello,

BC2 supports a /silent command line argument which will suppress all dialogs and run silently. I strongly recommend not enabling this option until you are confident your script is running as you expect, since you will receive no feedback if there are any errors.

In BC3, you can use /closescript on the command line (documented in Help under the Command Line arguments). BC3 also supports /silent, like BC2.

Hi, I have experienced something similar. I have installed the latest versions of BC4 on Linux, Windows, Mac. For Windows the command line switch closescript works. For Mac and. Linux the switch doesnt work. For those OS i need to set the propertiy in the preferences dialogue. The call and the Script content for All OS is identical. Any idea?

Also the confirm:yes-to-All seems not working as for a new sftp connectiion BC4 wants to add the New ssh key to the trusted key Cache. But here a manual key stroke is needed. Any idea?

Testing out bcompare "@bcscript.txt" -closescript on Linux seems to be working. Are you running the latest BC 4.3.4, and which OS/version are you running so I can try setting up that environment?

BC4's option to confirm only applies to operation confirmations, like overwriting newer files. We can look into expanding this for general dialogs and security prompts with additional flags, but for now you'll need to manually accept the trusted key, which can then be remembered for any future calls to scripting.

Linux and macOS use / as the path separator, so BC on those platforms uses - to indicate a command line argument instead. The Windows version will accept either one.
