  • Creating rules for a new file extension

I would like to create a set of grammar rules that apply to files that have a specific extension. This extension is not currently recognized by BC, so any grammar changes I make are saved to the <default> session. How can I create a new, custom File Format?

Seconds after posting I found the answer - Tools | File Formats.

Indeed. Good catch finding that right after posting, that is where you want to go.

Here's a KB article and video on how to define grammar elements and mark them as unimportant (or important):
Beyond Compare is a multi-platform utility that combines directory compare and file compare functions in one package. Use it to manage source code, keep directories in sync, compare program output, etc.
