Don,
Thanks for the follow up. I did some more testing. This feature works on Windows XP, but it fails to remove the read-only attribute on Windows 2000. I'll add this to our bug list to be fixed.

Does "Remove read-only flag" work?

I am running 3.0.7 (build 9037) on Windows 2000 SP4. The BC3 (and the system) have been restarted numerous times since the option was selected. I just copied a directory again from CD and all files and subdirectories are marked "(r)".

The "Remove read-only flag when copying from a CD or DVD" setting in the Folder Views section of Tools > Options should work correctly. I just tested with BC 3.0.7 on Windows XP and it cleared the read-only flag when I copied files with the setting checked.
It shouldn't require a restart, but have you tried restarting BC after you changed the setting? What operating system are you using?

The option to remove the read-only flag when copying from CD or DVD does not seem to work. Is it broken? I've set the option in the Options screen, but I still have to go back and clear the attribute after copying files from CD. (I am using 3.0.7)Tags: None
