  • Is there a way to hide "Hidden" folders?

I have Explorer set to avoid showing (and comparing within) hidden folders (the default setting). However, when I use Beyond Compare (versions 2 or 3) the files appear in the file comparison.

For example, I want to exclude my hidden .svn folders from my comparisons. The folders have the hidden attribute set, and BC shows them as (h).

I don't find a means to configure BC to NOT show these hidden folders. I even checked the Tweak menu. Did I miss the setting? Or is this not possible?

    Thanks!

    Open your Session Settings
Go to the Other Filters tab
    Click on DOS Attributes
Choose Exclude if set on the Hidden attribute

Thanks, but it doesn't work in the current 3.0 trial version.

      Am I missing something here?

        Hi Noel,

The attribute filters only filter out based on files based on attributes. It isn't possible to filter out folders based on attributes in the current version of BC.

To ignore .svn folders, enter the filter "-.svn\" in the filters: toolbar.

An "[ ] Include folders" checkbox would be a nice enhancement for the "Other Filers" tab.
