  • 9599 "Success" error

On attempting a copy from FTP soon after terminating one, I got the error

Unable to copy 03 - Osvaldo Pugliese (Instr.) - Tierra Querida (1944).flac:
    CWD command successful

The Change Working Directory command was successful. Do you have multiple connections used for this FTP? One may have been changing directory shortly after another attempted to copy a file, or even just one connection may have attempted one action and then the other.

Were you able to copy the file on the 2nd attempt?

      > The Change Working Directory command was successful.

Evidently, but that is not an error.

      > Do you have multiple connections used for this FTP?

      Yes.

      Very likely.

Are you suggesting BC cannot report errors accurately from multiple sessions???

      > Were you able to copy the file on the 2nd attempt?

      Yes.

Is the error repeatable? If it is repeatable, can you repeat it when only using one connection?

          > Is the error repeatable?

          I don't know.

This question is repeatable: Are you suggesting BC cannot report errors accurately from multiple sessions???

            Chris,

A failure to transfer a file is unrelated to a successful directory change. From your log, it looks like you failed to transfer a file, then succesfully changed your directory. Usually there would be more log after the CWD command, but not necessarily depending on the what is happening on the server and the command sent. If there were multiple threads running at once, then that would explain why the log may have been a bit confusing to read.

The full text of the log may be useful, if you could send it to [email protected]. If you can reproduce this log with multiple connections, that would help know if you can then also reproduce it with a single connection.

To clarify, there may well be something going on, perhaps even with our logging, but it is hard to tell from the information so far.

If there are any tests or procedures you'd like us to try running, please let us know as well.
