  • Encoding

First of all, I can't express enough how useful the encoding dropdown is in the file compare view. When a developer inadvertantly replaces an ANSI file with a Unicode version in source control, it becomes immediately evident when we compare the latest version of the file with the previous version (because one side says ANSI and the other side says Unicode).

I would find it useful if there were an encoding column in the folder compare view. It would be nice to know if files were encoded as ANSI or Unicode without first having to open the file in a file compare session. Please consider adding this to the infamous "customer wish list". Thanks.

That's the "file compare view", you were asking for it in the "folder compare view". I was imagining a column header in the folder view.

The "Added" by Aaron meant that it was added to the customer wish list... not that it was implemented into the product...

Oh. I sounded matter of fact to me so I jumped to the conclusion.

Sorry about that. I was directly replying to Michael's last sentence. To "add" it to the customer wishlist.

...and you know, I actually read that. But my brain failed to make the connection.
