    Using Explorer...

    To destination: No.

To source: unknown, since I no longer have it.

Do you see the error if you copy a text file from your desktop to either/both locations?

I have a Documets and Settings\userprofile backup (file ownership/permissions unknown) and when I copy it to C:\Documents and Settings\ I get this error. When I copy it to C:\temp\ I don't.

What, on Vista? That error message should really only occur if you're targetting something other than a directory or archive (that is, a plain text file, a junction, etc).

    Hello Chirsjj,

Under what circumstances are you hitting the "Target path is not a valid directory"?
