  • Time for Comparison to Complete

I am in the process of testing BC for Linux, and I have a question. When I setup a folder compare session and run it, it tells me when it starts, but not when it finishes. I am trying to find out how long it takes for the comparison to complete, but I can't seem to find a place to enable that option. I tried enabling all logging options with no success. Hopefully this is something simple I am just missing.

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hello,

A background content comparison (set in the Session Settings, Comparison tab) does not show a progress bar or ETC.

If you select all of your files, then right-click and run a Compare Contents command, the resulting progress bar will show an estimated time.

Does that help clear up the behavior you are seeing?

If you want a timestamped entry in the log at the end of a Compare Contents command, then you might want to use some innoccuous command (all I can think of at the moment is doing a "touch" on some file that doesn't matter).
