Bump... It's been five days without a reply from Team Scooter.
Did this post get missed? Are you able to reproduce the issue?

started a topic Bug - Copy to Side Freeze

Bug - Copy to Side Freeze

Brand New install of the current beta on a brand new installation of Windows XP.

I wanted to duplicate the folder structure (4,100+ folders) from one local drive onto another. I entered a -*.* file filter then set the display options to always display folders. I then selected all the parent folders on the left hand side of my folder compare and clicked the Copy to Side button.

When the Copy to Side dialog opened, it started scanning the folders/subfolders to determine what should be copied. I clicked Cancel before the scanning was complete and before BC3 had the final folder count and it froze BC3 (folder count on the Copy to Side dialog was only at 3,700 out of 4,100 when I clicked Cancel). This resulted in a permanent hourglass over the Copy to Side dialog and the dialog could not be closed. I had to force BCompare closed via task manager.

In other words: If the user lets the scanning complete, then they can Cancel the Copy to Side. If the user does not let the scanning complete, attempting to Cancel the Copy to Side hangs the program.
Working...
