  • Folder Comparison Report status image...

When I create the folder compassion report, it seems to that internet browser does not process the picture that shows the status of the files: equal, not equal. The sign in the middle of the table is not transparent and has a pink background. If I print this report to PDF, that image becomes almost not viewable, there is just a black rectangle.... it was not like that in BC2.
I was looking into the custom style sheets, bit I guess this icon image get generated inside the application...
Anyone would be able to advise?

    Hello,

Sorry to hear you are running into trouble.

Which web browser and version are you currently using?

It would not sound great, but we are still on the IE6... web report is not a huge problem, but I'm not sure why pdf file does not show this icon clear.... we are in the process of upgrading the BC2 to BC3 and there are certain functions that are very crucial for us to have.... currently I'm evaluating version 3 before we would commit to upgrade... the report was working perfectly fine in BC2, the "=" status icon were visible and printed out clear...hoping that you would be able to help us…..thank you

        Hello,

The issue you are running into is that BC2 used transparent .gif files, while BC3 uses transparent .png files. IE6 does not support transparent .png files as a format.

IE6 itself is fairly old and does not support a variety tools and features. Google/YouTube is stopping their support of IE6 (as an example of how it is being phased out of general use.) http://news.cnet.com/8301-30684_3-10444574-265.html

How are you generating your PDF files? Is it through the HTML report, then using a Print to PDF command from within IE6? Does the "Print Preview" button show similar issues? Are their newer drivers for your printer available? Which software/version are you using to generate the PDF?

Hi, we are using PDF creator of the Acrobat v7 and the report is sent to the PDF as the regular print. I guess it would go through your code as if print to any other printer.

            Hello,

It is possible that Acrobat is using part of IE6 to help with the generation. Acrobat 7 is also from 2005, so it is possible it does not support the transparency either.

You can also try PrimoPDF for free. (Not a Scooter Software Product and not supported by Scooter Software).
