  • Compare folders by session and automatically start rule based comparision

    Hi,

it is possible to start BC with a saved session (in my example - folder compare).
Now I want to start "content comparision - rule based" automatically.

Currently I have to do this manually by clicking on the button "=?".

I already tried it by script:
    Code:
    load "CodeReview"
    expand all
    select lt.files rt.files
    compare rules-based
But this doesn't show the main window.

    Any suggestions?

    Hello,

If you simply want to launch the graphical interface with a specific session running a rules-based comparison, you can do this by:
-Launch the session, go to the Session Settings, Comparison tab, and enable Rules-based content comparison. Leave the defaults (Timestamp, Size, Override Quick Test Results) enabled.
    -re-save your Session.

Now, whenever you launch the session, it will perform the comparison. You can launch straight to the session from the Command Line with:
    bcompare.exe "Session Name"

Or you can launch BC3, then pick the session in the Home Screen's Saved Sessions list.

How does this work for you?
