  • Folder Sync from FTP

    I have Win7 Task Scheduler setup to launch a saved session. This session updates folders from FTP to local folder. Everything runs fine but I have to manually click the Sync now button. I would like to bypass this manual step. Can this be done?

    Thanks

    We do not currently have an Auto-Sync option.

    As a workaround, you can, however, call BCompare.exe @"c:\script.txt" where script.txt is a custom written script file that can load a saved Folder Compare session (not a Folder Sync session), and then perform a sync action on the loaded session. Documentation on script can be found under the Using Beyond Compare -> Automating with Script section, or the Scripting Reference section.

    Your general script would be:
    load FolderComapre Session
    or
    load c:\folder1 c:\folder2
    sync update:left->right

    Please test script with test data or already backed up data, while you learn how to best use script and the proper commands. Script actions are not "undo"able.

    Let us know if you have any questions,
