Microsoft doesn't officially support adding a custom application to the autoplay list.
The best official solution is to set the autoplay action for your device in Control Panel to "Ask me every time", then select "Choose a program from the list" in the prompt.
The utility DefaultProgramsEditor says it allows you to add custom autoplay items. I've never used it myself, but it might be worth investigating.Last edited by Chris; 28-Jul-2014, 05:08 PM.Chris K Scooter Software

Thanks Chris,
I figured that if Picasa can add itself to autoplay, maybe BC could too. There are lots of registry entries for various autoplay handlers.
FYI, my Win7 Autoplay does not have "Choose a program from the list" option under any of the media types in control panel. This image shows autoplay in actionI will probably continue to close the autoplay window and start BC manually.
Cheers.
