  • How to ignore Day Month Date on TXT file

    Hi

Kindly help me resolving my below queries. Pls note my BC version is BC3.1.10

    Query 1:

I need to compare two text files with text as

    File1:

    Tue Aug 05 2014 12:52:14

    File2:

    Thu Aug 07 2014 08:13:27

But that difference can be ignored. Please help!!

    Query 2:

I dont see Replacement option under Session settings, I beleive that is visisble only for BC pro version. Please suggest the path for BC 3.1.10 to replace text. I don't have privilege to install other versions except 3.1.10.

    Thank you in advance.

    Regards
    Silpa.

Replacements is a BC3 Pro feature, and that would allow you to ignore this specific date pair. If you need to ignore dates as a general concept, please follow this guide and video:
    http://www.scootersoftware.com/suppo..._unimportantv3

You would use the Basic grammar type, and define a Regular Expression to match on your date.

Let us know if you have any questions about that setup.

      Thank you for quick reply.

My scenario is Tue Aug 12 03:07:31 :

For that, I tried the code: \d+\s\d+\s\d+\s\d+:\d+:\d+\s:

But that did not work . Pls advice.

        Hello,

You would want a RegEx closer to:
        \w{3}\s\w{3}\s\d+\s\d+:\d+:\d+
