  • BeyondCompare 3 script giving error as path not found

    Hi,

We were using BeyondCompare 4 for evaluation purpose.
We bought the license for BeyondCompare 3.
After installing Beyond Compare 3 , we are getting "Specified file not found error " on running script.
Also if we try to list down the folders in C: we dont see beyond compare 3 folder.
Can you please help us here?

    Thanks,
    Prajakta

Make sure to place quotes around any paths that have spaces when calling your Beyond Compare script.

If you installed Beyond Compare 3 to the default location on 64-bit Windows, a call to a script might look like:

    "c:\program files (x86)\beyond compare 3\bcompare.exe" "@c:\test folder\script.txt"

We are using double quotes. The script is running fine when we try to run from machine where beyond compare is installed.
But its giving us error when we try to run the same script from another server.

Is Beyond Compare installed on the server that isn't working? If it isn't installed, you'll need to install it. Then make sure when you call Beyond Compare the path to the executable is correct.

A good test on the problem server is to try opening an interactive Beyond Compare session from the command prompt. If you get a path error, then either you don't have Beyond Compare installed on the server or you're specifying the wrong path.

If you installed Beyond Compare 3 to the default location on 64-bit Windows, you can open it interactively using the command:
        "c:\program files (x86)\beyond compare 3\bcompare.exe"
