Is there a setting I can use that would not show a difference any time a specific phrase is used in one document but not the other. Our software automatically puts in a phrase every dozen lines or so indicating the document release name and date and I would love to hide that as a difference so I can focus on the actual changes to the document. Is this possible?? Thanks!

Hello,
Very possible. You can define a grammar to match on the text you want to ignore, then set that grammar to Unimportant in the Session Settings for the Text Compare session, which can then be ignored with the toolbar toggle Ignore Unimportant Differences. We have a KB article with video (BC3, but most controls and concepts work forward to BC4):

Yes, you can also access the File Formats and Grammar elements from the Tools menu -> File Formats. File Formats are global and used for any session. The session then controls what is or isn't important. The Where Various Options are set video might be useful to review for how we store settings in different locations: http://www.scootersoftware.com/features.php?zz=v3videosAaron P Scooter Software
