  • How can I get my compare context menu to come back?

    Something has happened; I'm not sure what... I can no longer see the select/compare context menu for files. I've followed advice from:


    I've uninstalled/reboot/installed/ran-reg edit multiple times in different combinations to try and get this to work. ShellExViewer cannot even see any extensions for BC3.

    I installed for all users, and have ticked the check box for installing to the context menu. I also checked options->startup to verify that everything is correct there as well.

    Are you running 32-bit or 64-bit Windows 10?

    Are you using BC 3.3.13 or an older version? If you're using an older version, please use version 3.3.13.

    Are you using the BC 3.3.13 installer from our website, or are you using a custom installer? Some IT departments at large customers repackage Beyond Compare into their own custom installers. The custom installers sometimes don't install the shell extension correctly. In the case of a custom installer, uninstalling, then reinstalling using the official installer from our website will sometimes fix the issue.
