In BC2, I used the insert blank line, so I could merge over a particular line above another. I would insert blank(s), then align the line(s) I wanted to copy to the other side, copy, and then ctrl-s.
I can't find any way to do the similar thing in BC3
What's the secret?
If I use full edit, and insert a blank line, BC3 considers that a region, and even if I align and copy, the whole region get copied over.
