Session Settings modal dialog

When I am trying to set up Replacements in Session Settings, it would be nice if I could copy the "Text to find" and "Replace with" text directly from my input files in the left and right panes... but the modal state of the Session Settings dialog prevents this. Since I prefer to copy and past values to prevent typos and reduce the chance for human error, I find that I waste a lot of time trying to get the correct values in the replacements tab... sometimes opening and closing Session Settings several times and having to copy and paste text into and from a temporary notepad text file before I have a single replacement set up correctly.

I can understand why you might want the Session Settings dialog to be modal. Nevertheless, would you consider changing it so that a user can copy text from their input files while working in their session settings? Instead of making the Session Settings dialog modal, you could simply disable editing on both sides of the compare until the user closes the Session Settings dialog.

I guess you would also have to prevent the user from closing or navigating away from the current session as well.

Sorry, I don't think we'll make the "Session Settings" dialog modeless. However, we're considering ways to easily create new Replacements from the editor's right click menu.

Thanks, opening a replacements dialog from the context menu would work as well...so long as there is a way to copy and paste both sides of the replacement or, if the replacements dialog is modal as well, prepopulate the text boxes with a sufficient amount of the text that the user can trim off what is not needed and save the replacement without having to key it all in.
