I see all the scripting features and how I could create .bat files that do basic tasks like open Beyond compare to a saved session, perform a particular folder synch, etc.
I haven't quite spent the time to write a .bat yet though. I can guess others put this learning step off also. It would be really cool if there was a "Save as desktop shortcut" feature or "mini app" or whatever you want to call it. The result would be a .bat or something that could perform the desired simple steps. The two obvious ones I can think of are.
- Synch this folder with that according to the rules defined in this session.
- Open BC to this session
Or even the ability to save "droplets" that you could drop two folders on, and a synch would be performed according to a particular sessions rules.
Basically some UI features that would help set up basic scripting tasks.
Or, maybe I am missing something, do some of these types of features already exist? I could find them.
Thanks
Fred
