"Use closeness matching"

HI,

I needs to toggle the "Use closeness matching" option quite a few times during the file comparison to yield a better match. Is it possible to provide this option as a toggle button on toolbar, it would be faster than going to Session Settings > Alignment & then checking/unchecking "Use closeness matching" option.

Sorry, it isn't possible to add "Use closeness matching" to the toolbar. However, you can change the default settings so new Text Compares have the setting on by default. In the Home view, select "Edit Session Defaults > Text Compare", then change the setting in the alignment tab and save the changes.

Thanks Chris, but the default settings doesn't seem appealing to me. I need to toggle between the "Use closeness matching" more often no matter what's the default settings are. I was expecting the toolbar option would have been useful, anyways at least can we assign this option a keyboard shortcut?

You should not need to toggle this, as the initial comparison would most accurately align your files once correctly configured. Would you be able to send a pair of example files with your settings (Help menu -> Support; Export), and some screenshots to help demonstrate your workflow? You can email us at [email protected]
