  • What about different sorting for files and directories?

Many times, I use B.C.3 to compare a tree structure, mainly from a remote ftp site to a local folder. I would like to be able to see directories sorted by name, and inside each directory I would like to be able to see files sorted by date. In this way, I could browse directories in an easy way (alphabetical order) and inside each of them I could see at the top the latest new files. I would like to know if it is possible for You to add this feature to the wish list.

    Thank You very much

    Added, thanks for the suggestion.

You may also be interested in the Ignore Folder Structure view, which shows the folder path as another sortable attribute, and removes the folder structure, showing all files in all subfolders, sortable by date, filename, etc.

Thank You for the assistance. Your idea might be a solution to my issue, but only if I could sort for different columns. For example, I would like to be able to click on the date column, then on the path column, and see rows sorted first by path, and inside the same path sorted by date. Instead, B.C.3 sorts by date OR by path, and when I sort by path it considers names as if it ware a part of the same field. To see what I mean, please use the services console of windows. If I click on the startup type column, and then I click on the status column, I see services sorted by status (first empty ones, that are not started, then started ones), and inside the same status group I see first automatic, then disable, the manual. If You could apply the same logic it would be ok for me.

Thank You again very much for Your great support.

        Hello,

Flatten Folders will currently sort on one specific column at a time. I added your multiple sorted columns idea to our Customer Wishlist.
