  • Folder Compare - Windows with Linux

I am using the Folder Compare within BC3 to compare a folder on a Linux server with a folder on Windows. Some files accurately show no differences, but other do. When the files showing a difference in the folder compare are open, it revels that there are actually no differences.
Is there a way to configure BC3, so that it can determine if there are differences between the 2 files, without having to open the file?
    Thanks!

To tell BC to do a rules-based (content) comparison of all the files in a directory use the Session->Session Settings... menu item. On the "Comparison" tab, check the "Compare contents" and "Rules-based comparison" options. It will then do the same comparison as the file viewers automatically.
