  • Send to > Save Snapshot

I'd like to set up a Explorer right-click menu item that runs BC to save a snapshot of the selected items, presenting the BC Save Snapshot save dialog.

Having looked in Help under commandline switches and scripting I can find no way to run BC like this. The nearest thing is to save a snapshot to the current folder, which will fail on RO media. Is it possible?

    Thanks.

    Hello Chris,

    Thanks for the request.

In the current version, BC Script supports outputting to a specific path. Make that a path your user has access to (such as your My Documents folder, or C:\Snapshots) and it will save your snapshots into that directory.

If you want to create a more complicated structure, have your script call be from a bat file, and have the bat file pass in additional parameters, which can be accessed in BC Script as $1 $2, etc.

Thanks, but none of those give me the standard behaviour sought:

        Hello Chrisjj,

I have added your suggestion to our Customer Wishlist. My suggestions were for you to get a workflow you could follow with the current version.
