  • Defining file format

I would have though this had been beaten to death - I searched, but couldn't find anything showing what I'm doing wrong (?).

I'm comparing 2 folders, one of the PC, one of the mainframe via FTP. On the one side, I'm picking a file called xxxxxx.CBL - on the FTP site, they're called ftp://[email protected]/'xxxxxx.xxxx.cobol'.

My file formats are defined as shown in the first capture. The comparison results are shown in the second capture. If I then change the file format manually from cobol source to cobol ebcdic, the results are shown correctly.

How do I have to define my file format for cobol ebcdic so it's chosen automatically ????

On a different matter - the amount of files I can upload is getting quite full. How do I clean out old attachments ?

Try making the EBCDIC file format's mask *.cobol' (note the trailing single quote).

Thanks Craig, but that DIDN'T solve it

My general setting for the COBOL ebcdic is now
      *.cobol'
and the results are the same from the first append.
