The files on my server and the files on my FTP do not have matching timestamps --- the FTP is four hours earlier. That is no good, because we rely on those timestamps. Is there a way to fix this?
You are using BC3, correct? Normally, we try to detect this from the Server, but it can be customized. Go to the Tools menu -> FTP Profiles; select your Profile.
Go to the General tab, and the Time zone dropdown. It should be set to Automatically Detect / User Server Time by default, but you can manually switch this option. Try UTC first. How does this work for you?
I'm not sure! When I do a compare, it sees 6:49 and 10:49 as different times. Am I supposed to do a compare and have it correct the timestamp on the remote FTP, or is it supposed to ignore those four hours? I'd rather both computers have the same timestamp.
Setting the Timezone should make both times appear the same. You may need to restart BC3 to see the new changes (not normally needed, but worth a troubleshooting step).
One other thought: After you upload, is the timestamp the same but off by 4 hours? Or is it getting an updated time of the current time (and off by 3? hours).
