  • Resizing the File comparison report

For long paths file and directory names are truncated in the file comparison report and the window cannot be resized.

The File Comparison Report appears to give different numbers:
Using the Summary List Differences reports No differences were reported,(see below) where as there are 21 differences reported by the dialog(see attached screen shot).

Can the comparison results window be made resizable ?
Then for the report if I am doing something wrong or there is a bug in then can this be addressed ?

    Hello Rob,

Just to clear up a little terminology, you are generating our Folder Compare Report (Summary), right? Our File Compare Report, or Text Compare Report, is in the Actions menu, and will generate a report showing the actual text within each file that is selected.

Before generating a Folder Compare Report, you should issue an Expand All command to make sure all files are currently visible. After that, try generating the report again. Are you seeing numbers that make more sense?

The Comparison Results window is not currently sizable.

      Aaron, thanks for the help.

It seems that the 'expand all' was the step I was missing now the numbers match.
The use of 'expand all' that just isn't obvious or consistent with other features.
If I have 'Show All' I expect the file report to pickup all differences.
The use of 'expand all' to control visibility isn't inconsistent with the copy. If I have 'Show all' then performing a CTRL+A then copy all files, it works as expected. I don't have to do an 'expand all' in order to copy all files.
