  • Forum maintenance today

This afternoon we'll be taking the forums down for maintenance. We're (finally) switching our regular BC2 support forums from ubbthreads over to vBulletin. These BC3 Beta forums will be a sub-group.

A big advantage will be a single registration and login for all forums. For those of you who have different usernames, passwords or email addresses for vBulletin and ubbthreads, we'll be consolidating under your current vBulletin login.

Aargh! I am now seeing all non-BC3 Beta posts in my "New Posts" list.
How do I limit "New Posts" to the BC3 Beta topics?

Also, When I click on "New Posts" or "Mark Forums Read" in the "Quick Links", it seems to take me out of the beta forums and into to the non-beta threads. (the color scheme turns from "nostalgia" to "BC green") It is quite annoying to be take out of the threads you are trying to read and put into ones that you are not.

        Michael,

Thanks for the feedback on the forum update. It looks like it isn't possible to restrict the "New Posts" list in vBulletin to just the BC3 subforums.

I'll see if we can do something about the styles changing when you click on "New Posts" or the other items. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

            Hi Michael,

Instead of "Quick Links | Mark Forums Read" you might use "Forum Tools | Mark This Forum Read" in the Thread in Forum view. More steps, but at least it won't throw you into vbulletin's top level page.

I hope to release our new website design on or around June 30. It consolidates the beta site and the current main site (using the beta site's theme). The annoyance with dual vbulletin styles will go away at that point.

I don't know if vbulletin can limit a New Posts request to a specific subforum (eg "BC3 Beta Discussion" only) but we can look into that when we get the chance.
