  • Ugly big font annoying ...

You'd think the ugly big fonts would have been fixed by now with the beta release. Is this a configurable font? If not why not since all the fonts are configurable. If so please please tell me where to change it.

The fonts in the Home view from your screen shot have been the same since Beyond Compare 3.0, released in 2008. We haven't had significant complaints about these fonts.

The size of the fonts (buttons and menu) in the screen shot you posted use Window font settings. The system fonts are different on Windows XP vs Windows Vista or Windows 7, so the fonts will be bigger on Vista or 7.

Here's how to change the font size on Windows Vista:
Right click on the Windows desktop and select "Personalize".
Click on "Window color and appearance".
Click on "Open classic appearance properties for more color options".
    Click on "Advanced".
Select the item "Message Box" and change the size and font to your preferred font.

Vista defaults to using "Segoe UI" size 9, Windows XP defaulted to using "Tahoma" size 8.

If you need instructions for a different version of Windows, please let me know what operating system you're running.

There also is a tweak available that removes the buttons altogether. Then, the "Edit session defaults" branch in the tree control is renamed "New" and you can double-click one of the session types to launch a new empty session.

To try this, press Ctrl+Shift+T to access the Tweaks dialog, and uncheck Includes "new session" buttons.
