  • Excluding files at the root

How can I set up to compare two directories, but only certain directories within there, specifically NOT files at the root?

With the file filter default of *.*, and the directories I want to compare listed in include folders, I'm still seeing files at the root. Adding \ or .\ to exclude directories doesn't help.

There must be a simple way to do this basic operation; sorry if I'm being thick.

    Thanks,
    Dave

Related, how are the file and folder include/exclude rules prioritized? (Surprised I couldn't find this in the docs.)

If a file matches both an exclude and an include rule, which one wins? Does it matter how specific the filters are? Same question about folder filters too. If a file matches a file include rule and also a folder exclude rule, I assume it's not shown, yes? Otherwise folder excludes wouldn't do anything with a *.* file filter.

Where is the info on this?

    Thanks.

Use ".\*" in the "Exclude Files" edit to exclude any files in the base directories.

Exclude filters always take precedence over include filters.
