  • Rename Folders with a prefix

Is there a way to rename folders with a prefix.

EG to select say 10 folders and add a Prefix of for example 2010 for all those folders created in 2010 or 2009 etc.

    How to do this??

Any way also of Touching two (or more) folders and copying their name(s) either to right or left (like time stamps)?

    Thanx

    Hello,

    1) You can add a prefix to multiple folders by selecting multiple files, then right click and use the Rename command. With multiple files selected, you will be presented with the Rename dialog. Here you can use a Regular expression as
    Old Mask: (.*)
    New Mask: 2010 $1
To add a 2010+space in front of every selected name.

    2) We do not currently have a Touch Filenames command. It is on our Customer Wishlist.

      Thanks.
Is there any where I can find the Syntax and preferably examples.
(The help section is very cryptic...I tried to figure it out before your example but was unable to figure it out) many thanks anyway.

Entire web sites are devoted to teaching regular expressions. One place you can go to learn more is: http://www.regular-expressions.info/reference.html
