  • View Option: Gather Filesquence

    Hi,

i am working with beyod compare to sync huge amount of images.
i search a View option / feature, that collapses file sequences in a single line with it given range.
So it is possible to find missing images within huge filecounts.

currently it displays every single file:

    file_name112_0001.xxx
    file_name112_0002.xxx
    file_name112_0003.xxx
    file_name112_0004.xxx
    file_name112_0005.xxx
    file_name112_0006.xxx
    .....
    file_name112_1300.xxx
    file_name113_0001.xxx
    file_name113_0002.xxx
    ..
    file_name113_1300.xxx
    file_name114_0001.xxx
    .... and so on

    but,
i want to view the files as gathered sequences, when
a frame range (files with ending numbercount at the end) is detected.

    like this:
    file_name112_####.xxx (0001-0896)
    file_name112_####.xxx (0900-1300)

    or this:
    file_name113_0001-155.xxx
    file_name113_0121-1300.xxx

    file_name114_0001-869.xxx
    file_name114_0925-1300.xxx
like in eyeon fusion's file browser:
    --- see attachment ---

i really need that feature, maybe i just missed something.
    please help me.

how could this be achieved ?
any hints, clues or solutions would be great.
    thanks in advance.

    Hello,

We do not have an option to collapse file names into a single file section. You can use our Display Filters to toggle and show only Orphans (files that appear only on one side).

Are you comparing two sets of directories? Or are you just looking for a break in your current naming scheme in a single directory?

i am comparing two sets of directories, for syncronizing left to right.

Looking for a break in the name scheme really helps getting me done with 200'000 files. :/ sync'ing with your tool works great and is speedy too,
but anytool with this feature would be our next buy. (we need to do this task on every future project)

is it possible to code a custom plugin,
maybe a custom file view option or anything like this ?
      and when, how to ?
do you have any hints or clues ?

        Hello,

Thanks for the feedback. We do not have the ability to detect where the breaks are in the pattern of your files; this type of behavior would probably have to be a custom program to sort these breaks into a log file or folders, which you could then review.

Windows Explorer in Windows 7 has an option to "Group By" -> Name, but this will only roughly group your files together (All "0-9" in one section, all "A-H" in another.) It does not appear to detect a lack of "H" files and make that the break point.

If anyone else is familiar with this type of scenario or has any suggestions, we would certainly like to hear about it.
