  • Virtual Box NTFS Timestamps Problem

Ok, maybe this is a weird scenario, but here's what I've got:

    * Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard running current version of Oracle's Virtual Box to emulate a PC that BC3 is running under
    * Two NTFS formatted USB hard drives with same folder/file structure
    * Using Tuxera software to allow Mac OS to write the NTFS volumes
    * When I run BC3 on the 2 drives, it finds differences (GOOD! )

When I copy changed files from one drive to the other, the files copy fine but the timestamps on the destination drive are set to the time of day that I do the copy, not the timestamp of the source files. While I can do a subsequent "touch" and use the timestamps from the original files as the touch time, this makes every copy a 2-step process.

Is there any way to make this a one-step process?

    Hello,

Normally, BC3 attempts to preserve the timestamp at the time of the copy. Issues like this sometimes come up when an FTP server does not allow that to occur, and we have an option to "Touch Local file" when transferring to an FTP. This isn't ideal, but keeps both timestamps in sync.

If you perform the copy using Windows Explorer from the same "computer" Beyond Compare is executed on, do you see similar timestamp behavior when performing the copy?
