How does it work for Excel?

Hello,

Excel files undergo a conversion process from .xls to plain text for comparison. Unfortunately, this means we cannot save back as an .xls file, so editing and copying are disabled.

If you open your files in Excel, and save them as CSV, then BC3 will open them in an editable mode and you'll be able to edit/copy.

Still can't merge csv files

Hi Aaron,

Even if I converted my xls file into csv, I still can't merge my difference. You mean to compare csv files as Text Compare?

You can open .csv files in BC3's Data Compare. Once opened, use the "Edit > Copy to Right" or "Edit > Copy to Left" commands to copy entire rows. If you select the line details at the bottom of the window, you can also select "Edit > Edit" from the menu to edit cell contents.
