  • Feature request(?) Ignore Timestamp under View

I know there is an ignore timestamp under profile->comparison.
Would it not be an idea to add this as a new feature to the 'View' panel?

    TIA

    Hello,

The View menu controls what is shown, while the Comparison tab in the Session Settings controls what is compared. These two can be independent; we can hide the timestamp while comparing it, and also show the timestamp while considering it unimportant to the comparison.

You can hide the timestamp column by right clicking the columns in the main Folder Compare pane, and enabling/disabling the ones you want.

Please note that if you disable timestamp for comparison, this can have an effect on other areas of the application that require a timestamp, such as Sync Update. Sync Update syncs "Newer and Orphan Files", but if timestamp is disabled no file will have the status "Newer".

If you have any questions, or would like to go into more detail on the task you are setting up, just let us know and we'd be glad to help.

      Thanks for the reply.

The idea is that in some events, identical files (name+size) may show up as different(red). THey may have been saved again or whatever.

PDF, or Office files, with same name/size: no need to copy and check those.

However, it is also okay to just click on 'Home'->Comparison tab, deselect time comparison and Open as new, just as fast...

      Thanks again
