How can I compare files with an external tool?

Hi, I would like to compare VIs from LabVIEW (sort of binary program source code files in a graphical programming environment). Unfortunately, these files can't simply be converted to text files as far as I know. But there is a comparison tool provided with the programming environment which accepts two files. Is there any chance to hand over the paths of two selected item in the folder comparison view of Beyond Compare to an external program?

Is the goal to launch the program and view the comparison from it? If so, we could define an Open With (in the Tools menu -> Options dialog, Open With section). Here you can create a custom command which calls a command line with given parameters as a selection. These parameters can be selected files or folders.

The Picture Compare could also be used with an External Conversion. We also have a plug-in architecture, but this requires extensive programming so I would recommend investigating the other solutions first.
