Thanks for the reply. I've upgraded to v4 anyway in hope that this feature will make it in one day BC is an amazing piece of software.

    Hello,

Alignment Override of different subfolder levels is not yet supported in BC4. It is still something on our Customer Wishlist.

Has this changed in BC4? I need to align folders that are not on the same level of folder hierarchy and as you say, that's impossible in BC3.

Yes, without RegEx enabled, it would use DOS masking.

The Reg Ex could be something like:
    (.*)11
    $1\12

    aaaaa12
    bbbbb12
    ccccc12

is there way to align them with the settings using regx so the aaaaa's bbbbbb's and cccccc's all lineup?. I tried a few but am not having success
found that *11 = *12 (with no regex checked) works fine

    Hello,

If you have BC3 Pro, you can right click the a\ subfolder, select Align With, then click on the b\ subfolder to align them. You can also go to the Session menu -> Session Settings, Misc tab, and create a new Alignment Override which defines a = b

This will only work on folders or files that are in the same relative sublevel structure of the directory tree. You could not align test1\a\suba with test2\b\

If you have the Std edition, you would need to set different base folders (test1\a <--> test2\b), or you can trial Pro edition to see if this feature meets your needs.
