Suggestion: MSI Compare Session Type

Hi,

it would be great if I could compare MSI packages with BC. For now, I'm using WiDiffDb.vbs (*), but I can imagine BC representing the results more clearly.

Beyond Compare now supports Total Commaander's packer plugins (archive files). There are a couple of MSI plugins available attotalcmd.net that should work. You can install them from the options dialog on the Folder Compare's General page.

Is there a particular plugin you think about? The one I tried right now didn't do the trick: The important difference in the MSI in question lies in the Registry-Table. This difference is *not* spotted. As far as I can see this is a folder compare only, which is quite useless for me (external cab in this particular case, btw).

WiDiffDb.vbs, on the other hand, is able to find that difference.

There were three listed when I searched for MSI. I haven't tested any of them, but MSI Plus says it can unpack tables too, so I'd assume it will just show up as another file in the archive.
